Terms of Service
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Summary: These terms govern your use of the UCANRR application, the therapist and study dashboards, and our websites (together, the “Service”), provided by UCANRR Software, LLC (“UCANRR”, “we”, “us”). UCANRR is a tool that supports couples therapy. It is not a substitute for a therapist, does not diagnose, and is not an emergency service.
In an emergency: do not use UCANRR to ask for help. The app and dashboards are not continuously monitored. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. In the United States you can also call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a practice or organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
2. Who may use the Service
- The Service is currently offered by invitation, for pilot use by couples in therapy and the clinicians who treat them, and for study staff named by UCANRR.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Clinicians must hold any license required to provide the care in which they use the Service.
3. The research pilot
If you take part in a UCANRR research pilot, the informed consent forms you signed describe what is collected for the study, who may see it, how it is protected, and how to withdraw. Where those forms and these terms differ on a study matter, the consent forms apply. Taking part is voluntary, and you may stop at any time as the consent forms describe.
4. What the Service is, and is not
- A support for therapy. UCANRR helps capture between-session experiences and summarizes them as scores, trends, and indicators. Clinical decisions remain the responsibility of the treating clinician.
- Not medical advice or a diagnosis. Nothing in the Service is a diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice.
- AI can be wrong. Suggested scores, labels, and safety screening are produced automatically and may be incomplete or incorrect. Context matters; review them with your therapist.
- Safety screening is limited. An automated safety check reviews entries, and some answers may alert a clinician. It can miss risk or flag content that is not risky, and it does not replace emergency services or your own safety plan.
5. Your account
- Use only the account set up for you, and keep your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it.
- Give accurate information when you are enrolled or invited.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for who can see your device.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to monitor, control, threaten, harass, or retaliate against your partner or anyone else;
- use entries or scores as evidence against your partner, or try to read another person’s entries;
- use the Service to communicate an emergency, or for any unlawful purpose;
- access the Service or its data in ways we have not made available to you, or interfere with its security or operation;
- copy, sell, or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
7. Clinicians and study staff
- Use the Service only for clients and participants you are authorized to see, and keep their information confidential.
- You remain responsible for your professional and legal obligations, including assessment, safety planning, and mandatory reporting.
- Study roles (for example, raters, adjudicators, and the escalation clinician) are also bound by the agreements they sign with UCANRR.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write. You allow UCANRR to process it only to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy and, if you take part in a study, as your consent forms allow. Feedback you send us about the Service may be used to improve it without obligation to you.
9. Our property
The Service, including its software, design, and the UCANRR name and logo, belongs to UCANRR or its licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable permission to use the Service as intended; they do not transfer any ownership.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on providers such as app-distribution, sign-in, hosting, and AI services. Your use of their products (for example, signing in with Google, or installing a test build through TestFlight or App Tester) may also be governed by their terms.
11. Pilot software
The Service is pre-release software offered for evaluation. Features may change or be unavailable, and data may occasionally be lost or delayed. We may suspend or end the pilot at any time.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, UCANRR is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Ending use
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if needed to protect someone’s safety, or when a pilot ends. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example, sections 8, 9, 12, and 13) survive.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, tell active users. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which UCANRR Software, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
